Igor Tkachenko
Igor Tkachenko (composer) was born in the former Soviet Union and began studying music at the age of four. He came to the U.S. when he was 16 to study music first at the Mannes School of Music in New York, and later at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA. In 1982, Igor won first prize at the Aspen International Composition Competition for his piano sonata. Since 1983, Igor has been actively involved in the New York and New England music scene as a composer and pianist, and has composed works in different genres for soloists, chamber groups, theater productions and dance companies. In 1995 he founded Cast of Characters, an international music ensemble dedicated to the explorations of contemporary and traditional music from around the world. The music for Unfolding is 'Snow Music' from Igor Tkachenko’s CD, "About the Strangeness of Love."
