Daryl has performed with jazz luminaries George Coleman, Warren Vaché and Cameron Brown, and has played On- and Off-Broadway and in clubs with Sandra Bernhardt, Vicki Sue Robinson, Carmel Quinn, Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Tiny Tim, Luba Mason, Sherie Rene Scott and Seth Allen. He has also worked with Pheobe Snow, Jasmine Guy, Randy Brecker, Chapman Roberts and Christopher Walken. Producing and Arranging credits include recordings for artists Laurie Krauz, Randa McNamara, Brian King, Mary Testa, Jackie Hoffman, Scot Albertson, Stephanie Pope, Heather MacRae, Marieann Meringolo, Bruce Brown, and The Genesius Guild, for whom Daryl produced “Our Hearts Sing”, featuring twenty-one Broadway and Cabaret artists, including Kristen Chenowith, Mark Nadler and Phillip Officer. Daryl has recorded performance tracks for many artists including Varla Jean Merman and Miss Coco. An accomplished and widely diverse composer, Daryl has created and scored music for film, television, stage, artist’s recordings and video games. Among feature films that include Daryl’s work are “True Love," “Nola,” “Warrior Class" and "Reunion, The Movie." He composes regularly for the New York City Parks Department’s Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre, and wrote lyrics and music for “Cinderella Samba" and "Pippi Longstocking." Daryl is a recipient of Backstage's Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Direction, The Caribbean Gospel Music Award for Top Gospel Arranger, and The Daryl Kojak Trio received the MAC Award for Best Jazz Group (The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs). In Daryl’s successful and popular “Notes From The Pilgrimage,” an album of original compositions in new age and classical genres, Daryl "stirs up a rich blend with performances and lush orchestrations evocative of George Winston, Fred Hersch and Paul Winter." Daryl has worked on the New York music scene for more than twenty five years as a pianist, producer, composer, songwriter, arranger and musical director. The musical genres and styles of his extensive recording experience include jazz, blues, gospel, rock, R&B, pop, classical, new age and musical theatre.
