peaceful and warming sounds of 7am, Boyd USA's debut album. The songs of 7:am were created in two separate 2 day recording sessions at Shorefire Recording Studios (elegantly recorded and mixed by Joseph Demaio) in Long Branch, NJ. Boyd and producer Marc Swersky (Joe Cocker, Gedeon Luke) took advantage of the feel and size of the studio, decided to just throw the music in front of great players and record it old school. Playing through each song about 4 times with Boyd singing and playing acoustic guitar or mandolin the band featuring Steve Holley (Paul McCartney & Wings) and James Williams (Gary Burton) on drums, Thad Debrock (Aimee Mann, Spring Awakening) and Al Street (Sugerman 3, Charles Bradley) on guitars, Todd Caldwell (CS&N, Burlap to Cashmere) and Plinky Giglio on B3 and piano, and Swersky covering the bass, laid the foundation for the bed of 7am. With Steven Salcedo (Gedeon Luke) on saxophones and flute, and Kenny "Stringbean" Sorenson on harmonica adding great color and mood to 7am's dusty beds all that was left was the need for sunrise and that came from featured vocalists Layonne Holmes, Gedeon Luke, Brielle Brown, Janet Mendez, and The Puryears who brought that sweet gospel sound. 7am is music to be listened to on your way to work or church or when your the only one just arriving home when the rest of the world is waking back up.
